Orthodontics for Kids in Coral Springs
At Coral Springs Family Orthodontics, we specialize in making orthodontic care a positive and comfortable experience for children. Whether your child needs early intervention or traditional braces, Dr. B Patricia Rojas and our friendly team are here to guide you every step of the way.
When Should Kids See an Orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have their first orthodontic check-up by age 7. At this age, Dr. Rojas can evaluate how your child’s teeth and jaw are developing and determine if early treatment is beneficial. Early detection helps prevent more serious issues down the road and can make future treatment easier and shorter.
Signs Your Child May Need Orthodontic Treatment
Sometimes it’s obvious your child needs orthodontic help, like when teeth are visibly crowded or crooked. But other times, the signs are more subtle. If your child is experiencing difficulty chewing or biting, breathing mostly through their mouth, or if their jaws appear to shift or make sounds, it might be time to visit an orthodontist. Extended thumb-sucking, pacifier use beyond age four, or losing baby teeth too early or too late can also signal the need for orthodontic attention. Bringing your child in early gives you peace of mind and can help prevent more complex issues in the future.
Our Kid Friendly Orthodontic Services

Phase 1 Early Orthodontic Treatment
Phase 1 treatment, also called early interceptive treatment, is designed for children between the ages of 7 and 10. It focuses on guiding proper jaw growth, making space for incoming permanent teeth, and correcting bite issues while a child is still growing. This proactive approach can reduce the need for more complex procedures later and set your child up for a healthier smile in the long run.
Braces for Kids
For children who need more traditional treatment, we offer both metal and clear ceramic braces. These braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever before, designed with kids in mind. They use gentle pressure to shift teeth into their ideal positions, and our team works closely with your child to ensure the experience is as smooth and positive as possible. Plus, we make sure visits are fun and engaging with colors, games, and rewards.
Invisalign® First
Invisalign® First is a clear aligner system created just for growing smiles. It’s a great option for kids who qualify and offers a more flexible, discreet alternative to braces. These removable aligners make brushing and eating easier, and since they’re nearly invisible, kids can feel confident throughout their treatment. Dr. Rojas will assess your child’s needs to determine if Invisalign® First is the right fit.
Dr. Rojas ensures each adult patient receives a clear treatment roadmap and full understanding of what to expect from start to finish.
